History of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

Did you know Atlanta airport started out as a racetrack? Ever wonder what flying was like before the days of jets? Have you ever seen a vintage photo of Atlanta airport and couldn't figure out where the old buildings were in relation to the airport you know and love / hate ? Well then, step this way...

I completely rebuilt my massive History of Atlanta Airport with hundreds of photos covering over a century of history.

History of Atlanta Airport

Where has the time gone?

Hello everyone

First of all, I've neglected this blog for nearly two years while working on other projects but people have continued to show support and I continually get messages from readers. Much appreciated! Return To Atlanta even received an unexpected shout out from Creative Loafing last August. I'm so happy to know that people enjoy this and have such a passionate interest in our local history. Very nice!

Just to let you know, I plan to resume regular posts in a few weeks.

Some of the other projects I've been involved with in the past two years:

I joined a group called Theme Music in 2012 and spent nearly every spare moment from late 2012 - 2014 recording, making music and creating videos with musicians all over the world through the magic of the interwebs. A guitar track from Sweden, a piano from Scotland, vocals from Michigan, bass from my living room. It's a blast. NPR even did a story about it.

The other big project, finished just last week, was rebuilding my aviation website which features a massive section on the history of Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
Now it is time to once again return to Atlanta!
